National Consultation suggests the way forward
New Delhi, November 1, 2017: The need to make LPG use the ‘new normal’ and engender the ‘Draft National Energy Policy’ was highlighted at a one-day consultation on ‘Political Economy of Gender and Energy’. National Consultation on Gender, Political Economy and Energy to be held on September 22, 2017 at New Delhi. The consultation aims to bring together policy makers, researchers and civil society organisations on a common platform to discuss approaches and means to facilitate women’s access to and use of affordable and clean energy. Barriers and opportunities for use of clean energy by women for social reproduction (cooking) and for productive purposes (agriculture) are the key focus areas of the consultation.

A one-day workshop on ‘Gender in the Political Economy of Energy Policy- South Africa and South Asia’ was held at University of Cape Town, South Africa.
