Gender Factor in Political Economy of Energy Sector Dynamics is one of the five research areas under the ENERGIA Gender and Energy Research Programme: Building the evidence base for improving energy interventions' effectiveness by taking a gender approach. A five-year programme by the ENERGIA International Network on Gender and Sustainable Energy "to generate and analyse empirical evidence on the links between gender, energy and poverty, and to translate this evidence into recommendations for energy policy and programmes.

Carried out in Nepal and India, the overall research objective is to understand the factors that constrain or facilitate women's agency in the use of energy in the domestic and market-based production spheres leading to or retarding energy transitions. The partners for this initiative are
