LANSA research from FSN presented at NASI conference in India

National Conference on Technological Empowerment of Women commemorating the International Women’s Day was held on March 8, 2018 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. This was organised by The National Academy of Sciences, India (NASI). Special Address at the conference was given by Prof. M S Swaminathan, Chairman, Advisory Committee; Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Hon’ble Minister, Science & Technology, Earth Sciences and Environment, Forests and  Climate Change, Government of India gave the Inaugural Address.

Dr. Nitya Rao, LANSA's Gender cross-cut lead and Professor of Gender & Development at University of East Anglia, UK, spoke on LANSA research from India on ‘Women in Agriculture and Nutrition: Prospects and challenges for gender equality’ during the conference session on Agriculture, Nutrition, Food Security. Her presentation was based on insights from Farming System for Nutrition study undertaken in Koraput (Odisha) and Wardha (Maharashtra). She ended her presentation with policy priorities for Women working in Agriculture in India.
