Collective for Social Science Research (CSSR)

About CSSR

The Collective for Social Science Research (CSSR) conducts multidisciplinary research in Pakistan and internationally. The Collective's objective is to produce high quality research and to foster informed debate on social, political and economic issues and policies.

CSSR’s research specialities include economics, development policy, gender studies, health, labour, poverty and nutrition. It is recognised for three key innovations in applied social sciences in Pakistan: a political economy perspective in macro- and micro-issues; the attention to informal collective action and social networks; and combining quantitative and qualitative research methodologies.

CSSR’s research, advisory, and consultancy partnerships include local and international academic institutes, government and non-governmental organisations, and international development agencies.
