LANSA's online campaign for U N World Food Day 2015

To commemorate the 2015 U N World Food Day, on October 16, LANSA research uptake ran a series of key messages on its social media channels, and researchers wrote blog posts to underline the important role social protection plays in reducing chronic food insecurity and poverty.
4 LANSA blogs on Social Protection and Agriculture in South Asia
The 2015 theme: Social Protection and Agriculture - breaking the cycle of rural poverty - resonated well with the LANSA overall objective of addressing nutritional outcomes in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India and Pakistan by generating evidence to inform agricultural policies and programmes. The aim of the 2015 theme was to underline the role social protection plays in reducing chronic food insecurity and poverty by ensuring direct access to food or the means to buy food. The LANSA online campaign for World Food Day 2015 linked LANSA research work in the South Asia region with the UN theme making LANSA a talking point. Research Uptake created a series of hashtags and website links to drive LANSA website page views, and links to the four LANSA blogposts are available for further reading.
