RU successes and experiences under LANSA influences MSSRF’s communication strategy

The organisational set-up at the M S Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF) is around core areas of research for sustainable rural development; and the organisation has been working with community beneficiaries and on policy advocacy for almost three decades. There have been changes in the policy space as a result of MSSRF research.

Since 2017, MSSRF is relooking at the organisation setup and is working on restructuring for better reach and policy engagement. So far, there has been no separate research communication department, and no overall communication strategy or a dedicated team (save a department that disseminates via the press), to perform tasks associated with communicating evidence. Based on the experience of RU under LANSA, MSSRF is keen to adopt a new strategy for the Foundation along the LANSA RU guidelines and principles. The chairperson of MSSRF’s Board of Trustees (BoT) is also chair of LANSA’s CSG and aware of the research uptake successes under the LANSA programme.
