Setting up genetic garden at Heti village, Wardha

LANSA has set up a genetic garden as part of the Farming System for Nutrition (FSN) study at the primary school in Heti village of Wardha, Maharastra. The land measures a size of 22x15 sq.mt. The LANSA team at Wardha identified plants that are naturally fortified, nutritionally rich and relevant to the ecosystem; acceptable from the culinary point of view and can be fit into the crop system. During setting up of the genetic garden of bio-fortified plants at Heti village school, both the school children and teachers enthusiastically participated in the process.
