Noorulain Masood

Noorulain Masood is a Research Associate at the Collective for Social Science Research and leads its Research to Action programme, a RU initiative committed to helping grassroots leaders use evidence to influence policy making and political action. She has previously led an education non-profit, taught leadership development at Harvard University, and worked at the World Bank Headquarters. She is Founder/CEO of Center for Social Innovation in Developing Countries, and a graduate of the Masters in Public Administration/International Development programme at the Harvard Kennedy School, where she studied as a Fulbright Scholar.

Noor supervises LANSA's Research Uptake activities for Pakistan and is part of the Pakistan research team. 

Prakash Shetty

Prakash ShettyPrakash Shetty has extensive experience in the area of public health nutrition. He is Professor of Public Health Nutrition, University of Southampton Medical School, UK, Honorary Research Professor, Oxford Brookes University, UK and Emeritus Professor of Physiology & Nutrition, St John’s Medical College, Bangalore. He served as Chief of Nutrition Planning Assessment & Evaluation in the Food & Nutrition Division of FAO, Rome (2001-05), and has been a consultant to the UN and other international organisations.

For LANSA

As CEO, Prakash provides vision, leadership and strategic direction to LANSA. He oversees research, capacity strengthening, communications, finance and monitoring and evaluation. 

Priya Rampal

Priya Rampal is a Post Doctoral Fellow at the MSSRF, Chennai. She is completing her PhD from Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research, Mumbai. Her thesis focuses on the nutritional status of children, specifically, the importance early childhood nutrition in later outcomes such as health, education and work participation. Previously, Priya worked on agriculture and livestock insurance at a research centre in Institute for Financial Management and Research, Chennai, involving qualitative and quantitative methods of analysis along with extensive field work. Her M.Phil thesis focuses on changing food consumption patterns.

FOR LANSA

Priya works on the supply-demand and price trends of pulses including a review of the Pulses Mission of Government of India. 

Raju S

Raju S holds a postgraduate degree in Economics. Prior to working with MSSRF, he worked for six years as a Project Associate at Madras School of Economics. He is trained in statistical packages for data analysis, and in decoding and processing unit record data of the National Sample Survey Organisation

For LANSA

Raju is a Senior Research Fellow responsible for the management of all primary data generated under LANSA in India. He also assists in secondary data research.

Rashid Mehmood

Rashid Mehmood is a Research Officer at the Collective for Social Science Research and has worked on social protection, nutrition and, food security. Rashid has an MA in Economics from Hazara University, Mansehra and M.A.S in Economics from the Applied Economics Research Centre, University of Karachi, Pakistan.

Richard Longhurst

Richard Longhurst a Research Associate at IDS.  He is an agricultural economist by training and worked extensively on nutrition and agriculture between 1970 and 1992, for the World Bank, FAO and as a researcher at IDS.  Subsequently he worked as an evaluator and evaluation manager for various multilateral organisations, including ILO and the Commonwealth Secretariat.  Now back at IDS he serves on management teams for evaluations of nutrition interventions in Bangladesh and Northern Nigeria.

Richard is the team leader for IDS and part of the management team.

Rohit Parasar

Rohit Parasar is Researcher with a Master degree in Economics from Madras School of Economics, Chennai. His interest is in studying agricultural linkages with formal markets and value chain. Rohit has completed his Master’s dissertation in Analysing a Farmers’ Producer Organisation in Rajasthan.

For LANSA

Rohit is Senior Research Fellow at MSSRF working on analysing nutrition and value chain with secondary data analysis.

Rupal Dnyaneshwar Wagh

Rupal Dnyaneshwar WaghRupal Dnyaneshwar Wagh works for MSSRF. She holds a post-graduation in Food Science and Nutrition from SGB Amravati University and is pursuing a Ph D. She has been a Contributory Lecturer at SGB Amarvati University and has consultancy experience as a Dietician.

For LANSA

Rupal is working exclusively on LANSA. She is a Research Associate for nutrition on the FSN initiative in the Wardha district.

S Mahendra Dev

Picture of S Mahendra DevProfessor S Mahendra Dev is Director and Vice Chancellor of Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR), Mumbai, India. Some of his other roles include - member of the Board of Trustees of the International Food Policy Research Institutemember of National Statistical Commission of India; Chairman of the Committee on Terms of Trade on Agriculture, constituted by the Ministry of Agriculture, India; and, member of the newly constituted Expert Panel on Poverty Estimates. S Mahendra Dev has more than 100 research articles in national and international journals. Books include Inclusive Growth in India (Oxford University Press) and Perspectives on Equitable Development.

Saba Aslam

Saba is a Research Assistant at the Collective for Social Science Research. Saba has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the Institute of Business Administration with a background in economics and social entrepreneurship. She is interested in researching about health and education.
