Following a global consultation on June 2 for the 5th LCIRAH Annual Research Conference, the Agriculture, Nutrition and Health Academy  was formerly launched on June 3 in London for the world community of interdisciplinary researchers working on agriculture systems to improve nutrition and health.

Leveraging agriculture for nutrition in South Asia? Afghanistan?

I was somewhat surprised to be in Afghanistan in June 2014, a country which was new to me before LANSA first took me there. It is the high rate of malnutrition in a predominantly rural economy that makes Afghanistan an important country to LANSA.

Does women’s work in agriculture help or hinder nutrition in Pakistan?

This question has assumed great significance due to the steady feminisation, over the last decade, of the agricultural labour force, and the absence of nutritional improvement in the same period.
